London, today:
In her grandfather’s old clock shop in a forgotten corner of London, Tess smells something wrong. Feels it in the ticking of her heart.
When she stumbles Sideways and meets Alice, Tess knows life may not work out the way she planned.
While fighting her own demons, is Tess of the Clock Shop the one to destroy evil? What sacrifices will she have to make along the way?

Loved it: What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up
⚠️ Spoilers: minor plot detail mentioned below. I went into What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up with pretty normal expectations and it surprised me. Characters feel distinct, and the dialogue reads naturally. There’s a specific turning point late in the book that changes the tone hard — that moment will make or break it for you. I’d still read more from this author even with the flaws.

Mixed feelings: What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up
⚠️ Spoilers: minor plot detail mentioned below. Mixed feelings on What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up, but I can see why people love it. There are a few scenes that genuinely hit emotionally. The ending resolves fast compared to how much it builds up. There’s a specific turning point late in the book that changes the tone hard — that moment will make or break it for you. Not perfect, but it did enough to keep me turning pages.

Mixed feelings: What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up
⚠️ Spoilers: minor plot detail mentioned below. What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up has a strong core idea — the execution mostly works. The pacing stays moving and the chapters end on good beats. The middle drags and repeats the same tension a bit too long. There’s a specific turning point late in the book that changes the tone hard — that moment will make or break it for you. Overall, I’d recommend it to the right reader.

Didn’t work for me: What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up
What the Knocker-Upper Woke Up is the kind of book that hooks you early if you like its vibe. The middle drags and repeats the same tension a bit too long. I’d still read more from this author even with the flaws.
